Channel 5 show to feature WAA

Our charity will be part of the exciting Rescue 999 series, featuring in episode five on 13 September 2024, 8pm.
Utilising GoPro cameras, our aircrew spent a month filming with Channel 5 for the production of the show, which offers a unique viewpoint of dramatic real-life rescues.
The mission to feature in episode five sees a female patient falling off a ladder and badly injuring her knee in Swindon, with critical care paramedics Dan Tucker and Emma Thompson responding to the scene.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “This is a great opportunity for people to see the real-life work undertaken by Wiltshire Air Ambulance and other emergency services.
“You will see how our critical care paramedics are called to the scene, how they work alongside the land ambulance crews and come together to treat the patient with the highest level of care.”
The whole series sees Channel 5 work with a host of UK rescue teams – covering sea, mountain, land and air – to capture real-life incidents and take the viewer to the heart of the action.
The heroic rescuers and distressed casualties re-tell the story from both sides of the drama, as the viewer follows an unfolding narrative of the rescue from start to finish.
Ultimately, the series celebrates brilliant men and women putting their lives on the line for strangers in need.
Rescue 999 runs on Channel 5 every Friday from 16 August 2024 to 20 September 2024.
