Air Ambulance Week is a national campaign, which is aimed at highlighting the work undertaken by the 21 UK air ambulance charities.

We have a range of events and activities to mark this special yearly event, including our very popular Brew with the Crew and an exclusive chance to go 'behind the scenes' at WAA HQ!

Charity's emergency training helps Maxi, 11, save his grandfather

The importance of Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s Emergency Awareness Training programme has been demonstrated after 11-year-old Maxi Bastable came to the rescue of his choking grandfather.

Maxi was taught lifesaving skills by the charity at his school, Westonbirt Prep in Tetbury last year.

On Friday 8 September, we will be joined by a collection of handpicked local traders, who will be selling a range of local produce ranging from jewellery, food & drink and items for children. This will also be the first chance for you to purchase our much-loved Christmas cards.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance volunteer Hilary Fleming began fundraising for the charity in an obscure way in 2021.

The idea came about after “lockdown madness”, with the country still enveloped in the Coronavirus pandemic. 

Hilary decided she would embark on her daily walk wearing a different hat, asking for donations to Wiltshire Air Ambulance along the way.

Calling all schools

We're urging you to enjoy a non-school uniform day to support your local air ambulance. Schoolchildren can don yellow and green clothes – the same colour as the Wiltshire Air Ambulance helicopter – for a suggested £1 donation.

Take a look at Deepest Wiltshire

Kicking off National Air Ambulance Week with a look at Deepest Wiltshire. Fanny Charles and Gay Pirrie-Weir will be giving a reading, along with a Q&A and an opportunity to purchase a copy of the book.

We will be raising awareness at Waitrose in Salisbury from 10am-2pm plus our emergency awareness trainer, Andrew, will be based at Melksham Market Place teaching lifesaving skills.

5 September

Go ‘Behind The Scenes’ at our airbase - SOLD OUT

For the first time ever, we’ll be opening the doors to Wiltshire Air Ambulance HQ so you can get a ‘behind the scenes’ look at how we run our lifesaving service.

6 September

Brew with the Crew - SOLD OUT

You are invited to have afternoon tea with our crew. This is your chance to enjoy afternoon tea with the pilots, doctors and paramedics who carry out their lifesaving work across Wiltshire and Bath.

We will be at Marlborough Market from 8am-1pm with our merchandise stall and bucket collection.

7 September

Another chance to go ‘Behind The Scenes’ - SOLD OUT

We’ll be opening the doors to Wiltshire Air Ambulance HQ so you can get a ‘behind the scenes’ look at how we run our lifesaving service.

We will be at Bradford-on-Avon Market from 7.30am-1pm with our merchandise stall and bucket collection.

8 September

Our very first WAA Market Day

We have invited a collection of handpicked local traders to set up at our airbase, selling a range of local produce ranging from jewellery, food & drink and items for children.

Come and see our volunteers

We will be at Goatfest from 5-9pm with our merchandise stall and bucket collection.

Come and see our volunteers

We will be at Uniform Services Day in Trowbridge from 11am-4pm and also Corsham Street Fair from noon-4pm with our merchandise stall and bucket collection. 

We will also be attending the All Time Classics Concert hosted by Chloe Jordan.
